How Rotary Drum Thickening Works:

Filtrate Collection: As the sludge moves along the drum's surface, water from the sludge passes through the filtration media and collects in the internal cavity of the drum. The filtrate, which is the separated liquid, is collected and directed towards a separate outlet for further treatment or reuse.

Thickened Sludge Collection: As the sludge progresses along the drum, the solids content increases, and the volume of sludge decreases. The thickened sludge forms a cake or layer on the drum's surface. This thickened sludge is scraped or removed by a blade or scraper mechanism located inside the drum and collected for further processing or disposal.
