Our Containerized MBBR Bio Media Treatment Unit (Model BM-CTU20) is a fully integrated bio media wastewater treatment plant pre-assembled inside a standard 20ft ISO container. Designed for decentralized sanitation in remote communities across Brazil and Colombia, this plug-and-play system combines fine screening, flow equalization, MBBR biological treatment with HDPE biofilm carriers, lamella clarification, and UV disinfection into a single transportable package requiring only inlet sewer connection, power supply, and discharge piping to begin operation.

Decentralized Bio Media Treatment for Hard-to-Reach Communities

  • Amazon-Ready Design: The BM-CTU20 is specifically engineered for challenging logistics in the Amazon basin, Brazilian Pantanal, Colombian Orinoco region, and Andean highlands. Standard ISO container dimensions allow transport on unpaved roads, river barges, and cable-ferry crossings. Tilt-bed trailer unloading eliminates the need for crane access at remote sites where heavy equipment is unavailable.
  • Complete Bio Media Treatment in One Container: Every unit ships pre-piped, pre-wired, and factory-tested with HDPE biofilm carriers (800 m²/m³) already loaded, fine bubble aeration grid installed, lamella clarifier plates mounted, and UV disinfection system calibrated. Average site installation time is under 72 hours from container placement to treated effluent discharge.
  • Solar-Hybrid Power Option: For off-grid Amazon communities and Andean settlements without reliable grid power, the BM-CTU20 offers an optional solar-hybrid power system with battery storage. The bio media MBBR process inherently requires less aeration energy than conventional activated sludge, making solar-powered operation feasible for community-scale treatment.
  • Minimal Operator Skill Required: Automated PLC control with cellular modem enables remote monitoring by our technical support team in Brazil and Colombia. Local operators only need to perform weekly visual inspections and monthly sludge wasting. Alarm notifications sent by SMS to designated community water committee members.
  • Community Engagement Package: Each unit includes bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) community training materials, pictorial O&M manual for low-literacy operators, children's environmental education posters, and a maintenance logbook.
