Biological treatment methods can be classified into two major categories based on the oxygen requirements of the microorganisms involved: aerobic and anaerobic processes. Generally, aerobic methods are more suitable for treating low-concentration wastewater, such as that from ethylene plants, while anaerobic methods are more appropriate for sludge and higher-concentration wastewater. Aerobic biological treatment can be further divided into two main types: activated sludge processes and biofilm processes.
The activated sludge process is an artificially enhanced method of water self-purification, relying on activated sludge as the primary agent for removing organic matter from wastewater. The aerobic microorganisms present in the activated sludge require the presence of oxygen to function effectively.
In the aeration tank of a wastewater treatment biological system, the oxygen transfer efficiency is positively correlated with the growth of aerobic microorganisms. The supply of dissolved oxygen must be comprehensively determined based on the quantity and physiological characteristics of aerobic microorganisms, as well as the nature and concentration of the substrate. This ensures that the activated sludge remains in an optimal state for organic matter degradation. Tests have shown that maintaining dissolved oxygen levels in the aeration tank between 3–4 mg/L is ideal. Insufficient oxygen supply results in poor activated sludge performance and reduced wastewater treatment efficiency. To ensure adequate oxygen supply, specialized equipment, such as aerators, must be employed.
The aerator cover is equipped with peripheral gripping ribs, which prevent the diaphragm from detaching due to plastic creep caused by long-term exposure to the expansive pressure of the diaphragm during operation.
Featuring a specialized check structure design, the support disc includes a raised sealing ring around the air holes to effectively prevent backflow of sludge and water when aeration stops.
The optional secondary check structure is also specially designed, working in conjunction with the channel structure to ensure smooth airflow passage. This reduces energy consumption and extends the product's service life.
The inner edge of the aerator cover incorporates a downward-protruding design at its end, which reinforces the diaphragm and prevents it from detaching.
With an optimized airflow channel design, the air hole area is enlarged and corners are chamfered, reducing resistance loss during product operation.
The threaded portion of the aerator disc is reinforced to prevent breakage of the root threads.
